Dr. Sharon Redhawk Love is an Assistant Professor in Criminal Justice, Sociology and Women's Studies at Penn State. Dr. Love's research has focused on effects of cultural and gender differences in the experience of the criminal justice system; with a recent emphasis on the relative impact of male and female children whose parents are convicted of drug offenses. She has placed heavy emphasis on teaching and mentoring within the criminal justice field, and is active in the College's teaching Learning Consortium. She has extensive experience working in substance abuse problems, with incarcerated populations, and with families of those serving prison sentences from both law enforcement and counseling perspectives.
