Suzanne Kuhn is an Instructor for Nursing, Division of Education, Human Development and Social Sciences at Penn State Altoona. She coordinates the administration of both Associate and Baccalaureate Nursing preparation programs. These programs both emphasize direct community experience for students, with extensive applied work in local hospitals and health care agencies. Over the past five years, with 35-40 graduates a year, this strong program has ranged from 93 to 100% of nursing students passing the NCLEX-RN national certifying examination.
The Nursing programs are based in the new Sheetz Health and Wellness Center, a community-funded, physician-staffed facility that provides care to both community residents and students. Health screening and health promotion education are highly visible emphases of this program.
