Looking at the bigger picture: Penn State's Engineering Technology program is one of the largest engineering technology programs in the country. The program offers 5 baccalaureate degrees and 10 associate degrees (including our Mechanical Engineering Technology program) at 12 locations in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In the past year Penn State awarded 241 baccalaureate degrees and 240 associate degrees in Engineering Technology.

Penn State is a leader in Engineering Technology with:

  • More than forty years experience delivering proven programs in engineering technology
  • One of the largest engineering technology schools in the country - annually placing in the top two or three institutions in the number of graduates of both baccalaureate and associate degree programs
  • The largest selection of ABET-accredited degree programs in Pennsylvania
  • Small, personal classes taught by faculty with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience. This learning environment stresses interaction and hands-on applications. Faculty members work closely with local and regional employers to give students the real-world knowledge and skills to perform effectively in a rapidly changing and highly technical workplace.

This program is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (TAC of ABET; www.abet.org). ABET is composed of representatives of the various professional societies and has as its purpose the promotion and advancement of engineering education with the view of furthering the public welfare through the development of the better-educated and better-qualified engineer, engineering technologist, and engineering technician.
