- Click here if you enrolled into this program in fall 2008 or later
For students enrolled in the program BEFORE fall 2008 ...
A minimum of 67 credits is required
The semester-by-semester schedule shown below is designed to allow a 2MET student to graduate after four semesters. It may be necessary or desirable for students to schedule classes during summer or additional semesters depending upon the need for remediation and/or other individual circumstances. With the exception of major courses, the sequencing of the courses may vary from campus to campus. In order to allow for possible inter-campus transfer, it is necessary that the major courses be taken in the sequence indicated.

Notes for BS EMET Course Guidelines for 2MET Associate Degree
Bolded Courses
All courses listed in bold font require a grade of C or higher.
Sequential Nature of the Program:
Courses offered during each semester of the EMET program generally build upon material taught in previous semesters. Many courses have prerequisites listed in the Undergraduate Degree Programs Bulletin and are only offered once a year. Therefore, if a student fails to take a course during the targeted semester, he/she may be unable to schedule courses in subsequent semesters as well. The end result may be a degree program that extends beyond the traditional two years.
Note 1: Math Sequence
High school graduates who test into calculus may take Math 140, Math 141, and Math 250 as alternate math courses.
Note 2: Technical Elective Credits
EET 220 Programmable Logic Controllers is the recommended technical elective since it compliments the topics covered in IET 216 taken the same semester.
Note 3: US/IL Requirements for GS/GH/GA Courses
Effective summer of 2005, new baccalaureate degree students are required to complete a 3 credit course in United State Cultures (US) and a 3 credit course in International Cultures (IL) as a part of their GS/GH/GA elective credits. If a course is identified as both US and IL, it will have the USI code and can be substituted for either the US or IL; students will still need a total of 6 credits. Associate degree students must complete one course in either category.

C-REQUIREMENT COURSES All courses listed in bold type require a grade of C or higher.
Sequential Nature of the Program:
Courses offered during each semester of the MET program generally build upon material taught in previous semesters. Many courses have prerequisites listed in the Undergraduate Degree Programs Bulletin. Therefore, if you fail to take a course during the targeted semester, you may be unable to schedule courses in subsequent semesters as well. The end result may be a degree program that extends beyond the traditional four years.
Note 1: US/IL Requirements for GS/GH/GA Courses
Associate degree students are required to complete three credits in each of three general education areas: Social Sciences (GS), Humanities (GH), and Arts (GA). Of these nine credits, one 3 credit course in United States Cultures (US) or one 3 credit course in International Cultures (IL) must be taken to satisfy general education requirements. If a course is identified as both US and IL, it will have the USI designation and can be used to satisfy the requirement.
Note 2: Courses taught only one semester per year
Due to limited faculty resources, several program courses are only offered during one semester of the year. In addition, Engineering Technology courses are not traditionally offered during the summer months.
Note 3: Writing Intensive Course
W is the code used to designate courses that satisfy University Writing Across the Curriculum requirements.
Note 4: Technical Elective Courses
For students on the General Track, select 8-10 credits from the following technical electives.
CHEM 101(3), CHEM 110 (3), CHEM 111 (1), CMPSC 101(3), EET 114(4), EET 118(1), IET 333(2),
MET 297(1-9), IST 110 (4), IST 210 (3), IST 220 (3), IST 250 (3), MATH 140 (4), STAT 200 (4),
MATH 83 (4), PHYS 150 (3)
Students who plan to pursue a baccalaureate degree in EMET or MET should contact the program coordinator for the intended program to select technical elective courses.
