Our office developed an online scheduling system for students to make appointments with their DUS advisors. This system is only to be used by students who are assigned a DUS
advisor. Please take a few minutes to review the “how-to” instructions.
1. Open up http://www.altoona.psu.edu/WebAccess/stuadvise and enter your login information. This login will be identical to the login you would normally perform when logging in for email, e-Lion, etc. It is worthwhile that you get to know the address, as you will most likely be using it often.
2. To schedule an appointment with your DUS advisor, simply click on a day on the calendar which suits your schedule. You will only be able to schedule an appointment with your DUS
advisor up to two weeks in advance. Once you click on the day, you will be
directed to a page of available times for that particular day. Appointment times
are set for ½ hour each. Choose the time that works best for you and click the
available link to schedule the appointment. You will be taken to the scheduling
page. This is where you will be required to put some more information in about
you and your request for an appointment. Your advisor’s name, the date of the
potential appointment, and the time are all listed at the top of the page. YOU
MUST FILL IN YOUR USERNAME (EMAIL ID), YOUR FIRST NAME, YOUR LAST NAME, YOUR
MIDDLE NAME, YOUR PHONE NUMBER, A REASON FOR THE APPOINTMENT (I.E. WHY YOU WANT
TO SEE YOUR ADVISOR), AND ANY OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION IN THE NOTES AREA. Once
you have ALL of the information penned in, you will submit the appointment request.
3. IMPORTANT! Once you submit the request, you will be taken to another screen which provides you with more information about your appointment. At this point,
your appointment has not been scheduled yet! Your advisor will be sent an email and alerted via the online scheduling system to the fact that someone is attempting to schedule an appointment with him/her. The advisor must confirm your requested appointment to “make it official.” Once the advisor has confirmed your request, you will be notified via email of the confirmation. In addition, if you log back into the system via the link above, you will be notified of the status of your appointment (it will be listed as
UNCONFIRMED or CONFIRMED). Please make sure that you track the status of your appointment until it reaches confirmed status. The official policy is that advisors will respond to student requests for appointments within 1 (ONE) business day. If your advisor is out for a day or two, you will not receive the response within the allotted (1 Day) time frame. If you are anxious and need to talk to someone, call 949-5084 or 949-5281.
