Faculty

Penn State Altoona faculty members in the Division of Mathematics and Natural Sciences have received national, University, and/or college recognition for outstanding teaching. In Biology, most faculty members are involved in research and scholarly activity. Specifically, the faculty have outstanding publication records, and a continuous record of participation in workshops, technical meetings, and record of success in obtaining funding for research, outreach, and teaching projects. Undergraduate students are involved in research, especially in the laboratory sciences. The faculty have been involved in the NSF sponsored Research Experience for Undergraduates in both the Biological Sciences and Physics, as well as other selected research programs involving undergraduates. In addition, many of the faculty have supervised and directed honors theses projects of undergraduate students. Students majoring in Biology at Penn State Altoona will have the opportunity to participate in faculty research projects.
