COURSES OFFERED IN THE SPRING 2010 SEMESTER

INSYS 497A: Integrating Teaching and Technology
INSYS 497A will allow new and experienced teachers the opportunity to explore how they can use different forms of technology within their teaching practices. Participants will be able to explore, use, and navigate many different forms of technology and participate in discussions on the pros and cons of using technology within traditional classrooms. Teachers will also be able to actively apply many different forms of technology in the classes they are already teaching. This course is ideal for technology newcomers as well as those who are experienced.

SPLED 498D: Students with Autism in Inclusive Settings
This course provides an overview of the educational needs of students with autism, and details potential adaptations of instruction, methods, and materials used by general educators and others who participate in the education, counseling, or therapy of students with autism or a pervasive developmental disorder (PDD). The course is delivered via DVD lectures in combination with face-to-face instruction.

WL ED 400W: Foundations of Language in Second Language Teaching
Critical understanding of basic concepts and principles in second language acquisition and teaching. Prerequisite: PA Instructional I or II teaching certificate
