Penn State Altoona Alumni Society
The Penn State Altoona Alumni Society is comprised of all Penn State Altoona alumni who are dues paying members of the Penn State Alumni Association. The Alumni Society is involved in providing programming opportunities for alumni, recruiting new students to Penn State Altoona, securing gifts for the College, and maintaining the institution’s prestige and tradition.
The governing body of the Penn State Altoona Alumni Society is the Society Board. The Board is comprised of twenty-four members who serve three-year terms. Board members are responsible for the management and development of the Alumni Society, in cooperation with the Penn State Altoona Alumni Office.
In January, 2002, the Alumni Society added another remarkable chapter to its storied philanthropic history by making a $26,000.00 commitment to the Grand Destiny Campaign. The Society’s past gifts to Penn State Altoona include an endowed scholarship, contributions to the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts and the Ralph and Helen Force Advanced Technology Center, a sign near the main entrance to the campus, information boards, and a barbecue pit.
