To further encourage undergraduate research at Penn State Altoona, students may apply for funding to cover the direct costs of their research through the following programs:
- Student-Initiated Research Grant Application.
This grant program is intended to support student-initiated research activities. Students may request support for the direct costs of their research and for up to $500 in travel expenses to present their findings at regional, national, or international scholarly meetings in their discipline. To qualify for this funding, the student must be enrolled in an Altoona College major and have an overall GPA of at least 2.5. Deadlines for submission: November 1st, April 1st, and August 15th to the Assistant Dean for Research.
- Student International Research Grant Application.
This grant program supports student-initiated research activities in an international setting. Students may request support for the direct costs of their research and for up to $1000 in travel expenses in order to conduct academic research associated with their Altoona College degree program. In order to be eligible for this funding, a student must be enrolled in a 494 research course in their major and have an overall GPA of at least 2.5.
Deadlines for submission: November 1st, April 1st, and August 15th to the
Assistant Dean for Research.
