Many of the jobs one can get with this degree do not require more than a BS degree, but many others do (see Advising Information above). Beyond that, making progress in a career may require getting an advanced degree, or even just taking courses, or attending workshops so that you are kept up-to-date on techniques, and approaches to human services.

If you know at the start of your college career that you will want to go on the grad school you should work hard, and aim for the highest grade point average you can get. All grad schools want the best students they can find, and the better you look to them in that area the more choices you will have.

Our graduates have had good look getting into grad schools. Here is a list of some of the programs they have entered.

• School guidance programs – Penn State University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Frostberg State in Maryland, Shippensberg State University of Pennsylvania.
• Social work – Case Western Reserve, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (a program designed for people who are working full time)
• Seminary – Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg
• Doctoral program – Human Development and Family Studies, University of Missouri at Columbia.
• Education programs – Rhode Island College
