Special Notes on this Tutorial
To use this tutorial you must have a working install of an operating system. It is also assumed that you have a working modem installed correctly, and that you have a file sharing program. This tutorial uses limewire, but many file sharing programs are similar, and thus the directions should work for most.

Configuration
When using limewire on campus it is highly suggested that you turn the server functions off of limewire so that you do not exceed your bandwidth limitations to do so you will first need to start limewire. Next, from the tools menu choose Options. Now to the left there is a pane, in this pane click sharing. In the Shared Directories field, remove each shared directory by selecting it and clicking Remove. Next, you will need to select disable Ultrapeer Capabilities. Now in the left pane select Downloads. In this area you will need to set the field of maximum downloads to 1. Now, in the left frame click on slots, if this option is not listed you will need to click the triangle next to Uploads, and then slots should appear. Set; Uploads Per Person, Start Upload Slots, and Max Upload Slots to 0. Now you will need to find the option shutdown in the left pane. Click it, and then select shutdown immediately. Then click OK, and Limewire should be configured.
