Scholarships

Since childhood, Erika Alley has dreamed of studying veterinary medicine. Thanks to one woman's vision and generosity, she's finally able to March Forth toward her goal.

"Being an adult student puts more pressure on me than the normal student straight out of high school. I have more obligations at home, along with working two jobs. The scholarship has not only helped me financially, but it has helped to push me to do well. It is hard to believe that there are people, whom you have never met, who have enough faith in you and your ability to support your education."

The March Forth Trustee Matching Scholarship was established by Edith "Edie" Hertzog; the name of the scholarship reflects Hertzog's sense of determination and positive outlook. On March 4, 1994, Hertzog received her final chemotherapy treatment for colon cancer. At the time, a friend pointed out that the date offered a wonderful message: "March Forth! Go forward with Hope - YES!!!!"
