Penn State Altoona offers sixty-four flavors of fun with Jerry Greenfield

ALTOONA – Co-founder and owner of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Jerry Greenfield will speak at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, September 24, in the gymnasium of the Stephen A. Adler Athletic Complex.

In 1978, after completing a correspondence course on ice cream making from Penn State, Greenfield and friend Ben Cohen opened Ben and Jerry's Homemade Ice Cream Scoop Shop in an old gas station in downtown Burlington, Vermont. Two years later, the pair rented space in an old spool and bobbin mill and began packing their ice cream in pints. The company has since opened almost 200 franchised shops. It exists in thirty-one countries and offers sixty-four flavors.

The event is free, but tickets are needed. They can be picked up at the Book Store or the Box Office on campus.
