Arts and Humanities presents "American Splendor"

 

Penn State Altoona’s Division of Arts and Humanities will present a screening of the film “American Splendor” on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 4 p.m. in the Titelman Study of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. The film is being presented as a preliminary celebration of the visit of Harvey Pekar, recipient of the 2009-2010 Penn State Altoona Kjell Meling Award for Distinction in the Arts and Humanities.

The film features Paul Giamatti playing Pekar and Hope Davis as his wife. Directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, the film was released to critical acclaim and took honors at the Sundance Film Festival and the Writers Guild of America Award.

The film runs 101 minutes. Pizza and refreshments will be served. The Titelman Study and is handicapped accessible. Call 814-949-5452 for information.
