Poet Gabriel Welsch to read at Hard Freight Cafe tonight, September 29, 2009

Poet Gabriel Welsch will kick off tonight's Hard Freight Cafe with a 15-minute reading in the Titelman Study of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts on the Penn State Altoona campus. The reading will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be followed immediately by the open mic portion of the Hard Freight Cafe.

Welsch is the author of the poetry collection "Dirt and All Its Dense Labor" (WordTech Editions 2006). A former garden designer and nurseryman, he has published his poems, stories, essays, and reviews in dozens of magazines and journals, including "Mid-American Review," "Harvard Review," "New Letters," "Missouri Review," "Spoon River Poetry Review," "Crab Orchard Review," "Georgia Review," "Ascent," "Chautauqua Literary Journal," and "Rapportage." He is vice president of Advancement and Marketing at Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA.
