- The student must submit a request through the Registrar's Office at their current location; most offices will have a form to complete.
- The current campus will review your request.
- If the request is DENIED by the current campus, they will inform the student, and the request does not move forward to
Penn State Altoona.
- If the request is APPROVED, the Registrar's Office will submit a formal request to
Penn State Altoona.
- Penn State Altoona will then review the request, focusing on the following:
- The student must have at least a cumulative GPA of 2.00
- Whether the student is a graduate from a high school in Altoona's service area
- If the student can still make academic progress at their current campus
- If the student cannot make progress at their current location, can Altoona provide a schedule for the student?
- When necessary, major departmental support is requested and considered
- Any exceptional circumstance will be reviewed on an individual basis
- Penn State Altoona will not consider the following as a reason to change campuses:
- A signed housing contract or lease; or other housing issues
- Wish to participate in extracurricular activities
- To pursue a minor
- Student does not like current campus
- If Penn State Altoona DENIES the request, an explanation will be emailed to the student.
- If Penn State Altoona APPROVES the request, an email will be sent to the student with advisor and scheduling information.
