Run Stadium
In the fall of 2002 Penn
State Altoona opened up its newest addition to the athletic facilities when
Spring Run Stadium hosted the first soccer game. The field consists of a soccer field surrounded by
an eight-lane track. The unique blue surface on the track is the first of
its kind in the Penn State system. The track is open to the campus and the
community for recreational use when the campus teams are not using the
facility. Along with the track and soccer accommodations Spring Run Stadium
also has an enclosed press box, a large scoreboard, lights for night games
and activities, and bleachers.
|
EIGHT LANE TRACK

The track is used not only by Penn State Altoona students, but also by
the local community. The unique blue surface adds to the overall
beauty of the facility.
|
PLAYING AND SEATING AREAS

Spring Run Stadium can
seat roughly 2,000 spectators.
Aside from soccer matches, the first-ever Penn State Altoona all-sports
Pep Rally was held at the stadium in October 2006. The playing
surface, composed of a delicate yet sturdy Kentucky Bluegrass, allows
optimal conditions for competitive soccer. |
|
PRESS BOX

The
press box at Spring Run Stadium allows staff and work study students to
provide public address announcing, music, in-game statistics, and
scoreboard operation during all home soccer matches. |

Ivyside Athletic Fields

Penn State Altoona baseball and softball teams. The baseball team has
enjoyed playing at the campus since the late sixties, though the facilities
have been upgraded considerably since those early days. The most recent
additions to the baseball field include a new scoreboard and press box that
features a concession stand and restrooms. There is also a bullpen area,
dugouts, a batting cage and storage sheds. The softball field has enjoyed a
home at Ivyside since 2002 and new dugouts were recently added to the
facility. Both baseball and softball fields are equipped with lights for
night competition. In 1991 six new tennis courts were added to the fields
behind Adler Athletic Complex. The courts are home to the men's and women's
tennis teams who competed in spring and fall, respectively. These facilities
are also equipped with lights and are open to the public when not being used
for campus activities.

situated in the heart of campus and is surrounded by dormitories, the
Port Sky Cafe, and Spring Run Stadium. The facility features a

Eight tennis courts can
be found adjacent to the softball field, tucked away behind the Adler
