Glasser named ECAC South Region Player of the Week

CAPE COD, Ma. - One day after claiming her first-ever Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week honor, Penn State Altoona junior guard Alicia Glasser (Marion Center, PA/Marion Center) was selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference South Region Player of the Week for the week of January 6-13, the ECAC announced Tuesday.

Glasser led the Lions to two conference wins to keep an undefeated record in conference play at 5-0. She netted 23 points and grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds in a victory over Pitt-Bradford, including a school-record for free throws made (13-of-13) and free throw percentage.

Against Penn State Behrend, Glasser recorded 21 points, eight rebounds, three assists, four steals, and two blocks.

For the week, she averaged 22 points, nine rebounds, two assists, 2.5 steals and was a perfect from the free throw line (18-of-18).

Glasser leads Penn State Altoona in points (13.6), steals (35), and free throw percentage (88.7) while also grabbing six rebounds a night.  She ranks first in the AMCC in free throw percentage, third in steals, and seventh in scoring.

The Lions, currently on a seven-game winning streak, face Frostburg State University on Wednesday at 6:00 PM in Frostburg, MD.
