ATHLETIC NEWSMen's and women's swimming drop AMCC dual meet to BehrendSaturday, January 17, 2009ALTOONA, Pa. - Both Penn State Altoona's men's and women's swimming and diving teams fell to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference rival Penn State Behrend Saturday afternoon at the Adler Pool. The men's squad lost 124-85 to their foes from the north. Individually, Adam Capatch (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg Area) placed first in both the 200 yard IM and the 100 yard breastroke, while teammate Dan Palermo captured a first-place win in the 100 yard backstroke. A combination of Capatch, Palermo, Bryan Dau (Princeton, NJ/Notre Dame), and Dan Bodde (Shippensburg, PA/Shippensburg) also took home the men's 400 yard medley relay for the afternoon. On the women's side, the Lions of Altoona fell 109-89 to Behrend. For the first time all season, the Lions did not win a team event or an individual event. Both Lion squads are back in action next Saturday when Altoona will face Hood College in a non-conference meet. Meet time is set for 1:00 PM.
