ALTOONA, Pa. - In a physical game that saw 45 total fouls between the two teams, Penn State Altoona's women's basketball team triumphed over Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference rival Mount Aloysius 90-72 Monday night at the Adler Gymnasium.

Six Lion players scored in double-figures, and the hosts dished out 21 assists on 33 baskets.

Altoona was led by junior Alicia Glasser's (Marion Center, PA/Marion Center) 18 points and nine rebounds, and Angie Proper's 14 points off of the bench.  Glasser and Proper also combined to shoot 7-15 from beyond the three point arc for the game.

Sophomores Courtney Carrol (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) and Kelli Steiner (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads), and freshman Marissa Lucas all notched 11 points a piece, while freshman Tamara Thomas scored 10 tallies for the Lions.

The Mounties were paced by an impressive 22-point, 17-rebound performance from Altoona-native Kaylee Keagy.  Carlie Frick and Spring Krepps also scored 14 and 11 points, respectively, for the visitors.

Altoona held a slim 45-44 advantage in rebounding, and the Lions connected on nearly 48% of their field goal attempts, compared to just 35% from Mount Aloysius.  The Mounties won the free-throw battle by hitting 20 of their 25 attempts from the line, while the Lions only managed to hit 18 of 34 from the stripe.

Altoona enjoyed a 31-16 edge in bench points, and a slight 34-32 advantage in points in the paint.  The Lions also forced 23 turnovers, which they converted into 22 points of their own.

The only time Altoona trailed in the contest was at the 17:53 mark in the first half, when the Lions trailed 2-1.

The Lions are back in action this Thursday, January 22, when the squad heads to Pitt-Greensburg for a conference battle with the Bobcats.  Greensburg is currently sitting atop the AMCC standings, and game time is set for 6:00 PM.
