ALTOONA, Pa. - Women's basketball player Courtney Carroll (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) and men's basketball player Colin Geiger (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove) were named the Penn State Altoona Athletes of the Week for the week of February 2-8.

Caroll averaged 15.3 points and more than seven rebounds a night from her point guard slot in three games for the Lions.  She shot 50% from the floor (21-of-42) and had 18 points in the squad's 86-76 win over Pitt-Bradford February 4.  For the season, the sophomore is averaging 9.1 points per game and leads the Lions in minutes played at 31.8.

Geiger was the squad's top scorer in a pair of Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference games over the past week.  He had a team-best 14 points and made 6-of-7 shots against Pitt-Bradford on February 4.  The senior followed that up with 12 points in a setback at Penn State Behrend.  For the season, Geiger is averaging 15.1 ppg and leads the AMCC in free throw percentage (88.5%).

The next Penn State Altoona Athletes of the Week will be released on February 16.
