PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Senior guard Colin Geiger (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove) and sophomore forward Kirk Peters (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna Township) were selected to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference All-Conference team, the league office announced Tuesday morning. Geiger, who collected Honorable Mention distinction a season ago, was a first team selection and finished runner-up in Player of the Year voting to Pitt-Greensburg's Daniel Waajid. The 6-1 guard became the fourth Penn State Altoona men's basketball player to eclipse 1,000 career points and sits second on the all-time scoring list with 1,156 points to date. He averaged 15.0 points per game and led the AMCC in free throw percentage at 89%. Peters earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors after averaging 12.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per night. He finished 12th in the league in scoring, sixth in field goal percentage (52.9%), 14th in free throw percentage (67.8%), fifth in steals per game (1.65), and third in blocks (23). Sam Moore of Pitt-Bradford was selected as AMCC Rookie of the Year, while Medaille bench boss Mike MacDonald earned conference Coach of the Year.
