ALTOONA, Pa. - Baseball player Jimmy Baum (Shermansdale, PA/West Perry) and softball player Erin Cline (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) were named the Penn State Altoona Athletes of the Week for the week of March 9-15.

Baum played in five of the Lions' six games during the week and hit .529, going 9 for 17 at the plate with four runs scored and three RBI.  He stroked three of the squad's five hits in a 2-1 extra inning loss to Curry and went 3 for 4 with three runs and two RBI in a lopsided win over Newbury.

For the season, Baum, who has moved into the starting center fielder role, is batting .387 with two doubles and a triple.

Cline starred in a pair of games against Ferrum College on March 9, going 2 for 5 and smacking a triple and home run en route to three RBI.  Through six games, the freshman is hitting .333 with six hits and six runs batted in.
