ALTOONA, Pa. - Baseball player Jimmy Baum (Shermansdale, PA/West Perry) and men's tennis player Thomas Van Antwerp (Somerset, PA/Somerset) are the Penn State Altoona Athletes of the Week for the week of March 16-22.

Baum went 10 for 15 (.667) at the plate in four wins for the Lions.  He scored five runs, smacked three doubles, and drove in three runs.  In a doubleheader against Medaille, the freshman went 7 for 8 and is currently hitting .478 on the season.

Van Antwerp, playing in his first collegiate match Friday against Pitt-Greensburg, teamed with Stephen James (Muncy, PA/Hughesville) to win the top doubles flight before blanking his opponent 6-0 6-0 in number two singles.

The next Penn State Altoona Athletes of the Week will be released on Monday, March 30.
