ATHLETIC NEWSBehrend hands men's tennis second AMCC loss of seasonSunday, April 5, 2009ALTOONA, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's tennis team fell 7-2 to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference rival Penn State Behrend Sunday afternoon at the Ivyside Courts. The two Lion victories came from Thomas Van Antwerp (Somerset, PA/Somerset), who's match was retired and was awarded a 6-4 victory, and Kyle Yerty (Roaring Spring, PA/Central), who won his #4 singles match in straight sets 6-2, 7-6. In the doubles portion, the closest the host Lions came was an 8-5 loss by the combination of Yerty and Scott Pickrell (Altoona, PA/Altoona). The Lions are currently 7-2 overall, 5-2 AMCC, and the squad will next travel to Frostburg State for an AMCC battle with the Bobcats on Tuesday, April 7. Match time is set for 3:00 PM.
