ATHLETIC NEWSTennis keeps rolling, blanks Pitt-BradfordTuesday, April 7, 2009BRADFORD, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's tennis team won all three doubles flights and went six-for-six in singles matches as it blanked Pitt-Bradford 9-0 Monday night in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match. Steve James (Muncy, PA/Hughesville) and Thomas Van Antwerp (Somerset, PA/Somerset) teamed to win number one doubles and then captured the top two singles flights, respectively. Scott Pickrell (Altoona, PA/Altoona) and Kyle Yerty (Roaring Spring, PA/Central) did the same at number two doubles before winning their number three and four singles matches, respectively. Andrew Rosborough (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) and Pat Bloom (Montoursville, PA/Montoursville) easily won at number three doubles, and Justin Hess finished the Altoona sweep with a victory at number six singles. Rosborough also won his number five singles flight. Penn State Altoona improved to 6-2, 4-2 in the AMCC, and will host non-league foe Waynesburg University on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
