ATHLETIC NEWSLuzier named AMCC Baseball Player of the WeekMonday, April 27, 2009PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Penn State Altoona first baseman Grady Luzier (Forest, PA/West Branch) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the week of April 27, the league office announced Monday. In a 3-1 week for the Lions, Luzier hit .466, connecting on 7 of 15 at-bats. He had a big game against Mount Aloysius to help his team clinch the #3 seed in the AMCC tournament, going 2 for 4 (double, HR) with 6 RBI and 2 runs scored. The sophomore ended the week with 10 RBI to boost his season total to 45, third best in the conference. Luzier ranks in the top 5 in eight different AMCC statistical categories.
