ALTOONA, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona baseball team finished Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play with a 12-6 record and earned the number three seed in the upcoming league playoffs which begin Saturday.

The Lions will host sixth-seeded Pitt-Bradford in the opening round on Saturday, May 2, at the Stewart Athletic Field.  First pitch of the best-of-three series begins at 10:00 AM.  All three games, if necessary, will be played on Saturday.

Altoona downed the Panthers in a doubleheader at Bradford on April 11 by scores of 16-12 and 23-6.  In the opener, the Lions got 10 runs in the top of the seventh for a comeback victory and used a 13-run seventh frame in the nightcap to blow the game open.

Altoona entered last year's AMCC Tournament as the number six seed and lost to former conference member Lake Erie College in the first round.  This marks the first time Penn State Altoona will host a baseball playoff game since the conference expanded to 10 teams in 2004-2005.

The Lions won the AMCC Championship in 2000, while Bradford is a three-time league champion, winning the title in 2001, 2002, and 2005.
