ALTOONA, Pa. - After building a strong first half lead, the Penn State Altoona men's soccer team shut out Mount Aloysius 7-0 on Thursday at Spring Run Stadium. Joe DeSteffano (Solebury, PA/New Hope-Solebury) led the Lions with a pair of goals and an assist. Matthew Hanser (Rutledge, PA/Strath Haven) got the Lions ahead 1-0 11 minutes into the game on his goal, assisted by DeSteffano. Kevin Fee (Perkasie, PA/Lansdale Catholic) scored six minutes later for Penn State Altoona, increasing their lead to 2-0. DeSteffano notched his first goal of the game at the 33:20 mark of the first half, followed by an opportunistic goal from Brinton Satterfield (Boalsburg, PA/State College) in a scramble in front of the Mount Aloysius net to give Penn State Altoona a 4-0 halftime lead. A strike from Nicholas Kline (Camp Hill, PA/Camp Hill) three minutes into the second half put the Lions up 5-0, before DeSteffano came up with his second goal of the evening three minutes later to give his team a 6-0 advantage. Alex Snyder's (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) goal at 54:33 gave Penn State Altoona a 7-0 lead. MORE INFORMATION...
