CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Head Coach Alan SerettiAlan Seretti enters his fourth season as the head men's basketball coach at Penn State Altoona. The Lions enjoyed a record-breaking year in 2007-2008, setting a new school mark for wins (14) and advancing to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference semifinals for the first time in program history. Seretti was honored as AMCC Co-Coach of the year, leading his squad to a third place regular season league finish. The 2006-2007 campaign saw the Lions finish 10-16 overall and make it to the conference tournament for just the second time in program history. The Lions reeled off eight of their last 12 regular season games, earning the #6 seed in the league payoffs. Seretti guided the team to arguably the most high-profile win in Penn State Altoona athletics history on December 14, 2006, when it toppled nationally ranked Lincoln University. Seretti came to Ivyside from NCAA Division III Washington & Jefferson, where he served as the assistant men's basketball coach for three years. While there, he assisted with perimeter players and coordinated film exchange for upcoming opponents to prepare his team for offensive and defensive game plans. Seretti also facilitated a national recruiting effort that yielded twenty student-athletes over a three year period that represented eight different states. The Pittsburgh native puts a great emphasis on the "student" in student-athlete. He oversees the student-athlete study-hall program and teaches two freshman seminar classes this academic year. Aside from the annual Penn State Altoona Lion basketball camp for youngsters, Seretti has orchestrated high school shootouts and invitational tournaments at the Adler Gymnasium featuring teams from all over the state. The fourth-year bench boss is no stranger to winning, both as a coach and as a player. The 2005 season at Washington and Jefferson culminated with the Presidents appearance in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) championship game. As an assistant coach, Seretti also helped guide the Seton LaSalle High School girls' basketball team to a District 7 Class AA Championship and an appearance in the PIAA quarterfinals. As a player, Seretti was a three year letter winner at Allegheny College where he led the Gators to the NCAA Division III Tournament as a junior and a senior. During his four years of college basketball, his teams posted an overall record of 84-24. Seretti has also worked a variety of basketball camps including Villanova University, Wake Forest University, as well as the University of Pittsburgh and the Bob Hurley Basketball Camp. Seretti has also worked under the guidance of coaches Jerry Conboy, Ron Galbreath, and Phil Ness. Seretti is a 1999 graduate of Allegheny College and a 2002 graduate of the Duquesne University School of Law. He and his wife Jess reside in Duncansville. Contact Coach Seretti:
