PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Three Penn State Altoona men's golfers earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference all-conference honors for the 2009 season.

Senior golfer Jake Biltz (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) led the group by being named to the First Team. Biltz is a three-time AMCC First-Team selection and was named to the Second-Team once. He shot an average of 79 this season.

In addition to Biltz, freshmen Chris Perry (Altoona, PA/Altoona) and Mike Scheyd (Kensington, CT/Berlin) were named to the Second Team. Perry shot an average of 78.6 this year, while Scheyd averaged 80.3.

JEANNETTE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona men's golf placed fourth in the Pitt-Greensburg Bobcat Invitational at Greensburg Country Club on Monday.

The Lions tied with Pitt-Greensburg for fourth place with 342, but the fifth man tiebreaker gave Penn State Altoona possession of fourth.

Chris Perry (Altoona, PA/Altoona) tied for third individually out of 32 golfers, shooting an 82.

Corbin Personti (Wilmington, DE/St. Marks) finished with an 84, and Wes Elder (Roaring Spring, PA/Central) shot an 87.

Jordan Albright (Martinsburg, PA/Central) finished with 89, and John Bilo (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) had a 90 to round out the group.

ROARING SPRING, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's golf team defeated Saint Vincent College to win the ECAC Division III Southern Championship at Iron Masters Country Club on Sunday.

The Lions finished with a team score of 313 to Saint Vincent's 336.

The win gives Penn State Altoona men's golf its third ECAC Championship title in the history of the program and the team's first since 2006.

Chris Perry (Altoona, PA/Altoona) was a medalist as the top golfer on the day, finishing three-over par with a 75.

Wes Elder (Roaring Spring, PA/Central) took second place overall with a 77, while Lee Elder (Roaring Spring, PA/Central) tied for third with 80.

Brock Dillon (Roaring Spring, PA/Central) tied for fifth individually with an 81, and Jordan Albright (Martinsburg, PA/Central) rounded out the group by finishing seventh with an 84.

BLAIRSVILLE, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's golf team placed second out of nine teams in the AMCC golf championships at Chestnut Ridge Golf Course on Sunday and Monday.

Jake Biltz (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) shot a 75 on day one and a 78 on day two, while Mike Braniff (Julian, PA/Bald Eagle) shot a 72 the first day and an 81 the second day.

Biltz and Braniff tied for third individually out of 45 golfers. As a team, the Lions shot 303 on day one and 314 on day two for a total of 617.

ALLISON PARK, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's golf team placed second out of eight teams at the LaRoche College Fall Invitational on Tuesday at Wildwood Country Club.

As a team, the Lions shot 328. Jake Biltz (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) led the team with a 79, ranking fifth individually out of 40 golfers.

Michael Braniff (Julian, PA/Bald Eagle), Chris Perry (Altoona, PA/Altoona) and Mike Scheyd (Kensington, CT/Berlin) tied for seventh individually, shooting an 83.

Wes Elder (Roaring Spring, PA/Central) shot an 85 to finish tied for 15th individually.
