SIX PLAYERS SCORE IN WIN OVER PITT-BRADFORD
10.7.06

BRADFORD, PA:  The Penn State Altoona men's soccer team ran its record to 9-1-2 overall and a perfect 5-0 in AMCC play by downing Pitt-Bradford 6-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The balanced Altoona attack featured six different players scoring goals and two more picking up assists.  Bryan Pierzga led the attack by scoring the first goal of the game on a penalty kick at the 16 minute mark.  He also assisted the final goal of the first half by JC Campbell and the final goal of the game by Chris Baker.

Josh Guthridge (35:01 mark), Corey Suter (55:54 mark), and Justin Brunt (60:42 mark) tallied the other three Altoona scores, and goalkeeper Jon Martin had two saves for the Lions.  Brunt, Tim Morris, and Sean Rhodes all notched assists in the game.

The Lions are hoping to remain ranked in the Mid-Atlantic Region after securing the 10th place ranking last week.  The week before, Altoona checked in at ninth.

The Lions out-shot Bradford 19-2 in the contest and returns to action on Tuesday, October 10, as Frostburg State comes to Spring Run Stadium.  It will be Youth Soccer Night on Tuesday, as all the Tyrone, Altoona, and Hollidaysburg youth soccer associations will have youngsters on hand to take in the action.
