Penn State Behrend Advances Past Lady Lions in Shootout

ALTOONA, Pa. - After playing a pair of close games earlier in the season, it was no surprise that Penn State Altoona and Penn State Behrend women's soccer were tied at 0-0 going into overtime.
But after two overtime periods came and went, Penn State Behrend edged the Lady Lions in a shootout 5-3 in Saturday's ECAC Semifinal game at Spring Run Stadium.
In three meetings this year, the two teams combined for only one goal over the course of 310 total minutes played.
Emily Reimold (Shrewsbury, PA/Susquehannock) led Penn State Altoona with two shots on goal.
Penn State Behrend advances to the ECAC women's soccer championship game on Sunday at 12:00 PM.
Women's Soccer Beats La Roche, Advances in ECAC Tournament

ALTOONA, Pa. - Emily Reimold (Shrewsbury, PA/Susquehannock) scored twice to help Penn State Altoona women's soccer defeat La Roche College 3-1 in Wednesday's ECAC Tournament first round game at Spring Run Stadium.
Elizabeth Watt (Harleysville, PA/Souderton) put the Lady Lions on the board just over three minutes into the game, scoring on a pass from Kelly White (West Chester, PA/Villa Maria Academy) to make it 1-0.
But La Roche's leading goal scorer answered back, as Bethanie Moreschi tied the score at 1-1 on her goal off of a corner kick.
But the Lady Lions' leader in goals stepped up to reclaim the lead for Penn State Altoona. Reimold scored shortly before halftime to put her team up 2-1, then clinched the win with a goal late in the second half to put her team up 3-1.
With the win, women's soccer advances to the ECAC Semifinals. The Lady Lions will host Penn State Behrend on Saturday at 11:00 AM.
Seven Women's Soccer Players Named to AMCC All-Conference

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Seven Penn State Altoona women's soccer players were selected to All-Conference honors by the AMCC on Tuesday.
Picked for the first team were sophomores Emily Reimold (Shrewsbury, PA/Susquehannock) and Elizabeth Watt (Harleysville, PA/Souderton) and senior Kelly White (West Chester, PA/Villa Maria). All three were also first team selections in 2008. Reimold leads the team with 20 goals this season, a record for goals in a season in women's soccer. Watt has eight goals and eight assists this year, and White has one assist while maintaining the reputation for being one of the most solid defenders in the conference.
Sophomores Nikki Supsic (Northumberland, PA/Shikellamy) and Helena Tinnyo (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) were named to the second team All-Conference. Supsic has accumulated eight goals and seven assists this season, while Tinnyo ranks first on the team with 11 assists with four goals.
Freshman Alyssa Robinson (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) and sophomore Lindsay Raspanti (Fairless Hills, PA/Pennsbury) earned Honorable Mention for the AMCC. Robinson has scored four goals this season while providing steady defense, and Raspanti, a 2008 first team selection, won 16 games while racking up a conference-leading eight shutouts.

Lady Lions Fall to Frostburg in Overtime of AMCC Final

FROSTBURG, Md. - After playing 90 minutes of scoreless, back-and-forth action, Frostburg State women's soccer's Lauren Russell ended the AMCC Final in overtime by scoring to beat Penn State Altoona 1-0 at Bobcat Stadium.
Russell's goal came just over four minutes into the first overtime period.
Lindsay Raspanti (Fairless Hills, PA/Pennsbury) made eight saves in the loss for the Lady Lions, including six in the second half to keep Frostburg off the board through the end of regulation.
