CO-CAPTAINS LEAD LIONS TO VICTORY

BRADFORD, PA:  Penn State Altoona picked up its first AMCC win of the season as they downed Pitt-Bradford 2-1 Saturday afternoon.

Co-captains Heather Darnell and Danielle Collins proved to be the difference in a game that was still up for grabs with six minutes to play.  That's when Darnell assisted Collins for the game-winner that catapulted the Lions to 4-4-2 overall and 1-2-2 in AMCC play. 

Darnell notched the first goal of the game and her 12th of the season at the 11:44 mark of the first half.  Bradford's Michelle Centola tied things up 16 minutes later, making the halftime score 1-1 before the Lions eventually won.  Altoona out-shot the Lady Panthers 11-4 on the afternoon.

The squad is back in action on Tuesday, October 10, as Frostburg State comes to Spring Run Stadium.  Game time is at 5:00 PM.
