Undergraduate Academic Programs

Penn State Altoona offers students the opportunity to complete many bachelor's and associate degrees at out College in a friendly setting with small classes taught by experienced professors.

In addition to the many degrees that can be completed at Penn State Altoona, we also offer the first two years of over 180 Penn State majors. Students then may complete their degree at the University Park campus or another Penn State location offering that degree. Scholars and Honors Programs offer stimulating courses and individual research opportunities for high-achieving students. Free tutoring services are also available from either peer or professional tutors.


Faculty

Our 112 full-time and 155 part-time faculty members include Phi Beta Kappas and Fulbright Fellows, and many have research contracts with or are consultants for major national companies.

Campus Size

150 acres with more than 20 buildings centered around a pond, including a student union, athletic complex with indoor pool, fitness loft and weight room; computer center; library; state-of-the-art science and engineering labs; theater; art and music studios; and the Ralph and Helen Force Advanced Technology Center.


Extracurricular Activities

Approximately seventy-five clubs and student organizations on campus provide students with opportunities to develop leadership and social skills. These activities include a student newspaper and literary magazine, student government association, diversity organizations, honor societies, Christian and service organizations, fraternities, sororities, and special interest clubs. Fifteen NCAA Division III varsity sports teams challenge athletes in women's volleyball, men's and women's tennis, men's baseball, women's softball, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's golf, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's cross country.
